Larry found his first Volvo in 1975 and has had one or more ever since. He and his wife Virginia have been driving the same car for over 22 years, a 1982 black 244GL beauty with over 377,000 miles and counting. Larry has been ASE certified in 9 areas, including Advanced L1 Engine Performance. He can fix cars by phone, and believes an informed driver travels farther and more safely. David Johnston is our #1 undercar service technician since 2001. He graduated from the Bellingham Technical College automotive program. Dave came to Rainbow Auto to finish his studies in the field of Volvos. He powers thru his day enjoying music played loudly so his air tools don’t drown it out.
A newlywed, happily he heads home to discover the joys of his new wife and of course his pet fish, and cats. He also proudly raises many types of trees for sale here on the farm.
It did not take long to be converted to driving a Volvo. If you add his Volvo’s miles to the crew's total fleet mileage, it is nearly 1.5 million. Of course his wife drives a nice S70 T-5.
